Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (7 oz.) box pitted dates (I use the cut ones)
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1 beaten egg
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cut nuts; cut dates in quarters.
Dissolve soda in hot water and let stand on dates.
Add dry ingredients, vanilla, egg, butter and nuts.
Use tube pan or two loaf pans.
Bake about 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
