Keaton'S Blue Ribbon Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 c. cornmeal
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
    2 1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 1/4 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. melted butter or shortening
Preparation
    Sift flour once, measure and add baking powder, sugar and salt, and sift again.
    Add cornmeal and mix well.
    Combine eggs and milk.
    Add to dry ingredients; mix well.
    Add shortening. Bake in well-greased corn ear pans or greased breadstick pans in hot oven at 425\u00b0 for 20 or 25 minutes, or until done.
    Makes 2 dozen corn ear sticks or 3 dozen short corn sticks.
