Fresh Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (half butter)
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 2/3 c. sifted cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    milk from 1 coconut
Preparation
    Cream shortening, adding sugar gradually.
    Cream until mixture is very fluffy.
    Add eggs, beat mixture until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; add to mixture alternately with milk until milk and dry ingredients have all been added.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into three greased cake pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
