Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. berries
    9 c. sugar
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Bring sugar and water to boil; add berries.
    When they come to a rolling boil, cook 15 minutes.
    Do not stir, but shake pan while berries are cooking.
    Pour into shallow pan and let stand 24 hours. It is best to shake pan occasionally while berries are cooling. This will let the juice seep into the berries and make them real plump.
    Medium size whole berries are best.
    Yields 4 pints.
