Cherry Bounce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh, unpitted, tart, red cherries
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. whole allspice
    1 (2-inch) cinnamon stick, broken
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    4 c. vodka, rum or bourbon
Preparation
    Wash and stem cherries. Place all in a large jar or bottle. Cover tightly and up-end jar daily until all sugar is dissolved. Place in cool dark place for at least 2 months. Serve in liqueur glasses. Yield: 1 quart.
