Polish Lasagna(Pierogi Casserole) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 lasagna noodles
    4 c. chopped onions
    1 1/2 sticks margarine
    4 Tbsp. oil
    1 (29 oz.) can cooked sauerkraut, squeeze out excess water
    6 medium potatoes (2 lb.)
    1/4 to 1/2 c. milk
    salt and pepper
    9 slices yellow or white American or Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cook potatoes.
    Mash with 3 tablespoons margarine.
    Add milk, salt and pepper.
    Set aside.
    Saute onions with remaining margarine and set aside 1/2 of the sauteed onions.
    Add sauerkraut to other 1/2 of sauteed onions.
    Cook slowly for 15 minutes.
    Add water, if needed, to prevent burning.
