Hoecakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour, unsifted
    1 tsp. lard
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Sift flour and add remaining ingredients.
    Mix well and knead. Drop by teaspoonfuls on hot greased griddle.
    Brown on both sides and turn to finish browning.
    Makes 10 cakes or using 8-inch iron skillet, greased and hot, spread mixture in skillet.
    Brown on both sides.
    Cut into pie size serving to serve.
