Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter or oleo
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolk, flour and vanilla. Make 1-inch balls.
With a fork, press down middle and then across.
Press a pecan into center.
Brush each cookie with a slightly beaten egg white.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
