Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    1/4 tsp. minced garlic
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    2 cans tomato sauce
    2 small cans tomato paste
    2 cans kidney beans
    1 bay leaf
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
Preparation
    In a skillet, saute onion and garlic. Set aside.
    Brown ground beef and drain.
    In a crock-pot, mix tomato sauce, tomato paste, kidney beans, sauteed onion and garlic.
    Add beef and bay leaf to mixture. Add spices.
    (Additional chili powder and pepper can be added to suit your own taste.)
    Cook on high for 30 minutes; turn to low setting and cook slowly for several hours, stirring occasionally.
    This will be a fairly thick chili.
