Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. anise
1 qt. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
cold water
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat until smooth.
Add eggs; blend well.
Beat in anise, flour and baking soda, adding just enough cold water to make a very stiff dough.
Chill.
