Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. peanuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In 1 1/2-quart casserole dish stir together sugar and syrup. Microwave on High 4 minutes.
    Stir in nuts.
    Microwave on High for 3 1/2 minutes.
    Add butter and vanilla, blending well.
    Microwave on High 1 minute.
    Peanuts will be browned and syrup very hot. Add baking soda and gently stir until light and foamy.
    Pour mixture into lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Let cool 1/2 to 1 hour.
    Break into small pieces and store in airtight container.
