Mom'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
    1 clove garlic or 1 shake garlic powder
    1 slice bacon, chopped
    2 c. canned tomatoes (save juice)
    2 c. or 1 can red kidney beans (optional)
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. chili powder, diluted with juice of tomatoes
    3 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Heat oil.
    Add onion, green pepper, garlic, bacon and ground beef.
    Brown and drain fat.
    Add tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper and chili powder.
    Cook (simmer) 1 hour.
    Add beans in the last 15 minutes. May add celery.
