Chocolate Shortbread Logs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. unsifted flour
    1 c. butter, softened
    1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 Tbsp. shortening (Crisco white)
    1/2 c. walnuts or hazelnuts, finely chopped
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large bowl combine first 4 ingredients.
    Thoroughly blend.
    Using 1 teaspoon of dough for each cookie, shape with hands into 2-inch logs.
    Place 1/2-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 13 minutes.
    Cool thoroughly.
