Ingredients

1 box light brown sugar
1 lb. butter
1 beaten egg
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream brown sugar with butter.
Add beaten egg and mix well. Sift flour with soda; add to first mixture.
Add nuts, if you wish.
Form dough into rolls.
Wrap in waxed paper or foil and chill several hours in refrigerator.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350\u00b0.
The rolls of dough can be frozen and then thawed before slicing for cookies.
