Ingredients

1/3 c. soft shortening (part butter)
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Thoroughly mix shortening, sugar and egg.
Mix dry ingredients together; then add to shortening.
Mix alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin pan 2/3 full.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown, 20 to 24 minutes.
Immediately roll in melted butter and shake in a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Serve hot.
