Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, minced
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    2 c. chicken broth
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped broccoli, thawed
    3/4 c. finely diced potatoes
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, saute onion in margarine until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
    Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly. Add diced potatoes and broccoli. Sprinkle in nutmeg.
    Cook over medium-low heat 25 to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
    Pour into serving bowls and sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese, if desired.
    Serves 3 to 4.
