Ciambelone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1/4 stick butter or margarine
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3 c. flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    rind of one lemon
    1 glass Anisette
    1 glass whiskey
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until creamy; then add eggs, all but
    2 egg whites (save for tops), then add flour alternating with milk.
    Add
    juice
    and whiskey.
    Beat 2 egg whites until foamy, but
    not
    stiff, for top.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Use a round pan with a hole in the center.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. This is an Italian cake.
