Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 small jar (2 c.) applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
cinnamon
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 small pkg. chocolate chips
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.
Add applesauce, vanilla and a little cinnamon.
Stir together flour, salt, soda and cocoa. Add to other ingredients.
Sprinkle over top the chocolate chips, sugar and nuts.
Bake in greased 9 x 13 cake pan for 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
