Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. Cal pea beans
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. white sugar
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 1/4 tsp. mustard (dry)
1/8 lb. margarine
3 Tbsp. molasses
1 Tbsp. maple syrup
2 Tbsp. ketchup
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Soak beans overnight; drain in morning.
Cover with water; parboil gently for 45 minutes.
Use the soda as beans come to boil, remove foam.
Put all other ingredients in 1 pint hot water; mix well.
Strain beans.
Put beans into pot.
Pour on flavor mix; add enough water to cover beans.
Add more as needed during baking. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 2 hours.
Reduce heat to 275\u00b0.
Takes 8 or 9 hours.
