Soft Ginger Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. molasses
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Combine shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.
    Mix well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients, then the water.
    Stir until smooth.
    Drop by teaspoon on to a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake in moderate hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Frost while still warm with Lemon Butter Icing.
