Mom'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1 small can applesauce or 1 c.
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cocoa powder
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1/2 c. chopped raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Melt margarine in baking dish while oven is preheating.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add the brown sugar and applesauce to the melted margarine and mix well.
    Add the dry ingredients to the applesauce mixture.
    Stir with fork to mix well.
    Stir in vanilla. Add nuts and raisins, if desired.
    Mix and smooth entire surface. Bake 40 minutes for plain cake and 50 to 55 minutes with nuts and raisins.
    When cool, dust with sifted powdered sugar or serve with Cool Whip.
