Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. large ripe tomatoes
    6 green peppers
    1 1/2 pt. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. mustard
    6 large onions
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. ginger
    2 to 3 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Peel, core and slice tomatoes. Chop onions and peppers. Place in
    a large kettle.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cook on top of the range, stirring
    frequently, until the sauce is the consistency of catsup (about 4
    hours).
    Fill
    pint
    jars with hot sauce, leaving 1/2 inch
    headspace.
    Process
    in a boiling water bath canner for 15 minutes.
    Yields 5 pints.
