Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, separated
1 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. currant jelly
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Into small bowl, measure flour, brown sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla, salt and egg yolk.
With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
Increase speed to medium; beat 1 minute.
With hands, shape dough in 3/4-inch balls.
