Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chicken parts
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1/4 c. dry red wine
    2 large cloves garlic, minced
    1 tsp. crushed oregano
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 medium green pepper, cut into strips
Preparation
    In skillet, brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients, except pepper.
    Cover and cook over low heat 30 to 40 minutes. Add pepper. Cook 15 minutes more. Stir now and then. Serve over rice or pasta, if you like.
    Serves 4.
