Ingredients

1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 medium egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. soft sweet butter or margarine
1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz.)
1/2 c. granulated sugar
Preparation

Sift flour with baking soda and salt into a large bowl.
Add sugars, egg, vanilla and butter with a wooden spoon or hand electric mixer at medium speed.
Beat until well combined, about 1 minute.
Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
