Hot Dill Pickle(Yields 4 Quarts) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. water
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. alum
    1/4 c. salt
    2 pods garlic
    1 hot pepper
    1 small onion
    1 head dill (on some stem)
    enough cleaned cucumbers to fill the jar
Preparation
    Bring first four ingredients to a boil.
    In hot clean jars add remaining ingredients.
    Cover with liquid and seal.
    Process in hot boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
    Let set four to five weeks before opening.
