Best Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 egg
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. cornmeal
1 or 2 Tbsp. bacon grease drippings
Preparation

Beat all ingredients except bacon grease into a thin batter. Use a heavy iron skillet to heat grease (bacon), then sprinkle a little cornmeal on bottom to make a crust.
Pour batter into hot skillet and bake at 450\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Serves 10 to 12.
