Braised Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 small head red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 Golden Delicious apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
    1 c. warm water
Preparation
    Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet.
    Add onion. Saute for 1 minute.
    Add cabbage and apple and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Combine salt, pepper, brown sugar, water and vinegar.
    Add to cabbage mixture and cook, covered, over low heat for 30 minutes.
    Serve hot or cold.
    Makes 6 servings.
