Southern Red Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. red beans (dry)
1 lb. sausage (or ham), cut up
1 large onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 to 1/2 c. cooking oil
3 to 4 c. water
Preparation

Sort and wash red beans.
Add cut sausage, onion, bell pepper, garlic, salt and pepper.
Make your roux in a separate pan.
Roux is made by browning flour in cooking oil.
Pour roux over other ingredients (bean and sausage mixture) to thicken the liquid in the pot.\tCook until beans are done.
