Old Time Peppermint Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. butter
1 2/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2/3 c. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. water
1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy
Preparation

Combine butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl.
Beat on high speed for 3 minutes.
Combine flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with water to creamed mixture. Add candy.
Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes.
Remove from pan.
Cool completely and frost.
