Strawberry Angel Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
    dash of salt
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries (or 1 pt. fresh, mashed a little and slightly sweetened)
    1 c. heavy cream, whipped or 8 oz. Cool Whip
    1 (10 x 4 x 2-inch) loaf angel food
Preparation
    Dissolve jello with salt in boiling water.
    Add frozen strawberries, stirring until thawed.
    Chill until partially set. Whip until fluffy.
    Fold in whipped cream or Kool-Aid.
    Tear cake into 1 1/2 to 2-inch pieces.
    Loosely arrange 1/2-inch bottom of angel food cake pan.
