1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. boiling water
1 egg
1 tsp. melted butter
1/8 tsp. salt
4 1/2 lb. flour
1 1/4 oz. yeast
2 1/4 tsp. salt
5 c. warm water
1/2 stick oleo
1 c. lukewarm water
Preparation

In a small bowl, mix yeast with lukewarm water.
Stir until dissolved.
In a large bowl, add this to warm water, stir, then add oleo and mix well.
Add salt, and flour, a little at a time, mixing well.
Knead dough on a floured surface for at least three minutes.
To knead you punch and poke at the dough, then it in your hand and punch and poke some more.
