Ripe Cucumber Pickles(Slippery Jims) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large ripe cucumbers
    1/2 c. salt
    4 1/2 c. water
    6 c. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves
    1 stick cinnamon
Preparation
    Peel, cut cucumbers into strips.
    Let strips stand overnight in salt and water.
    Drain.
    Combine sugar, vinegar and 1 tsp. salt in large kettle; add soaked cucumber strips and cook until transparent with remaining ingredients which have been put in a cheesecloth bag.
    Place in jars and seal; process in hot water bath for approximately 10 minutes.
