Kohlrabi-Gemuse(German) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 kohlrabi, peeled and sliced thin
    salt water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    fresh parsley, chopped
    3 Tbsp. flour, lightly browned in Crisco
    water or beef broth
    1 bouillon cube
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Peel and
    slice kohlrabi.
    Take green, young leaves off stems and
    cook
    separately
    in
    small
    pot
    with boiling salt water. Drain
    this
    water.
    Set
    cooked leaves aside and chop finely. Cook sliced kohlrabi in salt water for a few minutes. Do not overcook.
    In
    Crisco,
    brown
    onion and parsley;
    add flour. Brown
    slightly;
    add
    kohlrabi water or beef broth or just plain water to make a sauce.
    Add bouillon cube, stirring constantly over low
    heat.
    If
    needed, add salt and pepper to taste.\tAdd kohlrabi
    slices.
    Carefully
    stir\tso
    as not to break up slices. Let
    come\tto
    a low boil for only a minute. Serve with beef steak and fried potatoes.
