Corn Bread Stuffing - cooking recipe

1 c. chopped onion
2 c. diced celery
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
2 qt. breadcrumbs or cubes
2 qt. cornbread cubes
4 to 6 c. broth or hot water
1/2 c. shortening
