English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. chopped almonds
1 c. margarine or butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. milk chocolate chips
Preparation

Melt butter and add sugars and water. Boil to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
Stir constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in baking soda and 1/2 cup chopped almonds. Spread in buttered cake pan 5 minutes.
Pour on chocolate chips and spread over toffee mix. Sprinkle on remaining almonds.
Cut immediately.
