Mom'S Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    approximately 3/4 c. granulated sugar
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    dash of salt
    4 eggs
    2 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    vanilla wafers
    5 to 6 medium ripe bananas
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Combine little more than 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in double boiler.
    Mix in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks.
    Stir in milk. Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and butter.
    Let cool slightly.
    Beat 3 egg whites until stiff, not dry; add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until forms stiff peak.
    Line 9 x 13-inch pan with vanilla wafers and bananas.
    Pour 1/2 pudding over wafers and bananas.
    Add another layer wafers, bananas, pudding.
    Top with egg whites and bake in preheated hot oven at 425\u00b0 until brown.
