Meatless Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. celery
    1 c. onion
    1 c. carrots
    1/2 c. green pepper
    1 c. cabbage
    1 1/2 c. tomato juice
    4 c. water
    salt and pepper
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    1/2 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Dice all vegetables very small.
    Saute celery, onion, carrots and green pepper in butter for 15 minutes.
    Add cabbage and cook 15 minutes longer.
    Add remaining ingredients and cook 3 hours.
