Turtle Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. caramels (14 oz.)
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. melted butter
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped pecans
1 pkg. chocolate chips (12 oz.)
Preparation

Combine caramels and 1/4 cup milk in heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring until caramels are melted.
Set aside. Combine butter, dry cake mix, nuts and 1/4 cup milk and mix until crumbly.
Press half of mixture into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Return pan to oven and bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes.
Cool and cut in squares.
Do not bake longer than 18 minutes or bars will be hard and dry.
