Cherry Angel Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cake flour
    1 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. egg whites
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
    1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Stir flour and 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar together.
    Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until foamy; add remaining sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time. Beat until stiff peaks form; fold in flavorings.
    Sprinkle flour mixture and cherries over top.
    Fold in gently just until flour mixture disappears.
    Push batter into ungreased tube pan.
    Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
