Ham Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 large carrots
4 stalks celery
1 small onion
4 large potatoes
5 c. water or ham broth
2 to 3 c. diced ham
2 Tbsp. butter
salt and pepper to taste
2 1/2 c. milk
6 Tbsp. flour
Preparation

Dice vegetables.
In soup kettle, cook vegetables in water or ham broth until tender, about 20 minutes.
Add ham, butter, salt and pepper.
Blend flour into milk.
Stir into soup.
Heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Turn heat to low and allow to simmer, partially covered, 10 to 20 minutes.
Garnish with paprika and chopped parsley.
