Snowflake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg white
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract or vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Blend Crisco, sugar, egg and extract. Combine dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk to first mixture. Chill dough. Roll out 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick on floured board. Cut into desired shapes. With fork, beat egg white with a little water, lightly; brush on top of cookie. Sprinkle with sugar (colored or white). Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
