Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco or margarine
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. molasses (light)
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. ginger (more if needed)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Blend sugar, Crisco and eggs.
    Stir in molasses.
    Add combined dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
    Beat well.
    Spread in a well-greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serve warm with ice cream or applesauce.
    Yields 8 to 10.
