Salt Risin' Bread(Makes Two 8-Inch Loaves) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium potato
    3 Tbsp. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    5 1/2 to 6 c. plain flour
    1 large egg white (optional)
Preparation
    On the day before you undertake this operation, you must start the starter.
    So peel and finely chop the potato.
    Place in medium bowl and stir in the boiling water, cornmeal, sugar and salt. Cover and set aside overnight at room temperature.
