Beale Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. unbolted white corn meal
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. milk
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Pour hot water over corn meal.
    Stir and cook on low heat about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add butter; cool slightly and add milk, salt and egg yolks.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in gently.
    Add baking powder, stirring just enough to mix.
    Place immediately in buttered casserole in preheated oven at 400\u00b0 for about 25 minutes.
    Serve at once.
