German Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter, unsalted
    3 egg yolks, cooked
    3 raw egg yolks (save whites)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. finely ground pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar.
    Add raw egg yolks and beat good. Push cooked yolks through grater and mix in batter.
    Combine flour and dry ingredients.
    Add to batter.
    Add pecans now, if desired. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with cookie cutters.
    Brush with egg white; sprinkle with colored sugar heavily.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
