Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream shortening and butter until light and fluffy.
Add sugar gradually while continuing to cream.
Add egg and beat well.
Beat in peanut butter and vanilla.
Mix flour, soda and salt; add in gradually.
Roll into small balls; place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten balls with fork tines.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
