Irish Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. margarine or butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. buttermilk (at room temperature)
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
sugar (for top of bread)
Preparation

Cream together the butter, sugar and egg.
Add the buttermilk and blend.
Sift together the dry ingredients and add them to the buttermilk mixture.
Stir in the raisins.
Bake in a greased 8-inch or 9-inch round cake pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with sugar before baking.
Serves 8.
