Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chopped onion
    4 stalks celery, chopped
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. chili powder
    16 oz. can tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. cooked rice
    3/4 c. Cheddar cheese
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Saute onion, celery and pepper in oil until tender.
    Add meat and cook.
    Drain.
    Add chili powder and tomatoes.
    Cook 10 minutes.
    Stir in rice and salt. Turn into a shallow baking dish, sprinkle cheese over top and put under broiler for a few minutes until hot throughout.
    Serves 6.
