Buns - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 pkg. dry yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm water
white flour
1/3 c. melted shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 egg
Preparation

Pour milk into bowl with sugar.
When lukewarm, add yeast in water.
Stir in enough flour to make pancake batter texture. This is called the \"sponge\".
Let stand until bubbly, about 1/2 hour in warm place.
Then mix in rest of ingredients and set with flour.
Leave it sticky.
Let rise 1 hour in warm place.
Punch down and let rise 1 more hour.
Form into buns and put in greased pan.
Let rise, then bake.
Butter tops when done.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
